Changelog

What's New

New features and improvements, newest first.

  1. Cookie Choices On Our Website

    • new Our public website asks before using Google Analytics, and you can change your choice any time with the cookie button or Cookie Preferences in the footer. Analytics never runs inside your dashboard.
    • improved The Privacy Policy and service provider list now cover Google Analytics. You'll be asked to accept the updated version on your next visit.
    • improved Plugin updates arrive straight from TroubleFree WP, with the usual update notice in wp-admin, and the plugin is now called TroubleFree.
  2. Updated Terms, Privacy And Security

    • improved New Terms Of Use and Privacy Policy, plus a Data Processing Addendum for agencies and a list of the service providers we use. You'll be asked to accept them on your next visit.
    • improved Subscribing shows the automatic renewal terms up front, sends a confirmation, and yearly plans get a reminder 30 days before they renew.
    • improved Clients can stop client reports with a link in each one, and getting-started emails have an unsubscribe link.
    • fixed Screenshots are stored privately, and only TroubleFree WP's own checks can see past a site's maintenance page.
    • improved Sites connect over HTTPS only, and our font is now served from troublefreewp.com instead of Google.
  3. A Voting Board For Ideas

    • new Vote on ideas: the Feature Request page shows ideas from everyone, so you can vote for the ones you want most.
    • improved Upgraded to Django 5.2 LTS and Tailwind CSS 4, with no known vulnerabilities in our dependencies.
  4. Tools For Agencies

    • new Maintenance runs: every round of updates gets a review board that sorts sites into "needs a look" and "looks good", so you can check each one and mark it reviewed.
    • new Branded client reports: preview each client's email, add a note and send it, from TroubleFree WP or your own email server. Optional monthly summaries go out on the 1st.
    • new Uptime monitoring every 5 minutes on paid sites, with uptime % on the dashboard and in client reports.
    • new Bulk plugin actions: install a plugin from wordpress.org, or activate, deactivate or delete one, on many sites at once.
    • new White label: show the plugin under your agency's name in wp-admin, or hide it.
    • new Maintenance mode: show visitors a "back soon" page while you work, switched on from the dashboard.
    • new Update Everything across all your sites, and Scheduled Updates at a quiet time.
    • new Email alerts when an update fails or rolls back, and when a site goes down and comes back.
    • new Optional two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app and recovery codes.
    • improved A redesigned dashboard and pages, built around what needs your attention.
  5. Teams And Paid Features

    • new Share sites with managers and collaborators, and transfer ownership.
    • new Paid features per site, with a 14-day free trial and no card needed.
    • new Six backup plugins supported: UpdraftPlus, WPvivid, BackWPup, Duplicator, All-in-One WP Migration and Jetpack VaultPress Backup. BlogVault is recognized too.
    • new An email when a new vulnerability is found on one of your sites.
  6. Safe Updates

    • new Every plugin and theme update keeps a copy first, checks your pages afterwards, and rolls back automatically if something breaks.
    • new Before and after screenshots, and one-click undo of an update for 7 days.
    • new An activity log of every change on each site, including ones made outside TroubleFree WP.
    • new Vulnerability scanning against Wordfence Intelligence.
    • new WordPress multisite networks supported.
